The role of the vacuum pump is to extract the gas molecules from the vacuum chamber and reduce the gas pressure in the vacuum chamber to achieve the required vacuum level. There is a large range from the atmosphere to the very high vacuum, and there is currently no vacuum pump system that can cover this range. Therefore, in order to achieve the process indicators, work efficiency and equipment service life requirements of different products, different vacuum pump systems need to be selected for different vacuum sections.

When selecting a vacuum pump system, five aspects should be considered:

First, determine the working vacuum range of the vacuum pump system
Since each process has its own adapted vacuum range, when selecting a type, it is necessary to check the vacuum level required by each process. Choose the right vacuum system based on this.

    First, the ultimate vacuum
On the basis of determining the vacuum level required by the process, the ultimate vacuum level of the alternative vacuum pump system is checked. The ultimate vacuum of the system determines the best working vacuum of the system. In general, the ultimate vacuum of the system is 20% lower than the working vacuum of the system and 50% lower than the ultimate vacuum of the backing pump.

Second, the pumped gas and type
When selecting a vacuum pump system, it is necessary to check and determine the type of pumping and pumping volume required by the process. If the type of gas to be pumped reacts with the liquid inside the pump, the pump system will be contaminated. Consideration must also be given to determining the appropriate exhaust time and the amount of gas produced during the pumping process.

    Third, the vacuum volume
Check to determine the time required to reach the required vacuum level, the flow resistance and leakage of the vacuum pipe.

    Fourth, the pumping rate
When selecting a vacuum pump, it is also necessary to consider the pumping rate required to maintain the vacuum under certain process requirements after reaching the required vacuum level.

When selecting a model for the customer, the technicians of the vacuum pump manufacturer will calculate the pumping rate required for the main vacuum pump and the time required to achieve the required vacuum degree through a variety of methods, including formulas, as a theoretical reference. At the same time, it is also necessary to take into account some variable factors, such as pipeline flow resistance, leakage, flow resistance of the filter, the temperature of the pumped gas, safety factors, etc., in order to make the optimal vacuum pump system selection scheme.
